I saw this image today and I needed it.
I was planning ways to get today's blog over with and feeling uninspired. Perhaps this is usual for the midpoint of Slice of Life month.
What has enlivened me so far has been the daily writing practice and connectedness to our community in moments of being fully present—in heart, mind, and body. I see that a committed daily practice doesn’t have to be long or complex—the best practice simply needs to allow deep listening and an open heart.
Discovering ways to write about life with the help of a marvelous collection of daily practices by fellow educators has helped me align my actions and values and show up more consciously in service to the world.
Thank you, ALL!
I liked how you expressed needing inspiration during this mid month slump. It is so true. And I think it happens to our students. For me this was always one of the huge values of this month long practice, experiencing what our kids are experiencing. Now that I am retired I find myself thinking about how the ordinary is actually extraordinary. I only just realized that after reading your slice so thank you!
I heartedly concur, "the best practice simply needs to allow deep listening and an open heart." The image perfectly expresses the sentiment. Heidi (Wordsmithing blog)
I love that image and have been contemplating it several hours. Yes, a mid-month slump is normal and why the focus must be on the writing first.
