Today is National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day!
For all you Raisinets fans celebrate by:
· buying a box
· finding a recipe and making your own chocolate-covered raisins
· using #ChocolateCoveredRaisinDay to post on social media
I used to tell myself as a kid that eating these morsels was good for me. The company reports that “raisins are an excellent source of calcium, potassium, iron, fiber, and vitamin B. When you combine the raisins with dark chocolate, you have a great-tasting, healthy snack.”
You go, Nestlè! Keep making over 1 million Raisinets an hour and the third-largest selling candy in U.S. history!
I must admit, if snack $ was tight at the movies, I’d buy popcorn over chocolate covered raisins, but I would bargain like the devil with sibs for Mounds bars and Raisinets when the work of Trick-or-Treating was done and the business of trading had begun.
Happy National Chocolate Covered Raisin Day my fellow slicers!
What a great slice! Raisinets, you either get it or you don't. My husband never cared for them which was good because he wouldn't eat them all up! Funny though, he liked trail mix, raisins, M&M's and peanuts. Thanks for the heads up to the kind of day it is going to be, sweet!
